Remembering Colin Doy

It is with great sadness that C&T have learned of Colin Doy’s passing at the end of last year. Colin was a fixture of the Militaria collecting scene for well over 50 years and the Chairman of the Aldershot Militaria Society since 2015. Colin will be remembered by many collectors as part of the furniture at another well known Militaria auction house in the UK, but some of you may or may not be aware that once his time had finished there, Colin came to us for a time, at C&T. Colin took on porter duties, helping us out at various militaria auctions before the travelling got the better of him and he chose to hang up his porter’s apron for good.

Militaria was not his only passion, but he was also extremely passionate about horses and horse racing and would speak about this, often more than he would militaria! This passion for horses led him to proudly amass one of the finest collections of horse brasses in the UK.

Those who met Colin, would never forget him. He had a lust for life and people, and will be sorely missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. We at C&T will always remember him fondly, and would like to take this opportunity to send out our condolences to his other friends, and to his family at this time.
