Having started his career in London with various internship roles at auction houses he eventually began a career in the Coin Department at Spink & Son. He then joined Bonhams in the Sporting Gun department before leaving London and moving to the South West before joining Busby Auctioneers & Valuers in Dorset, his home county.
Upon leaving Dorset for Sussex to be closer to his wife’s family, he joined the Dutch online auction house, Catawiki, as their UK Silver Specialist. This was a transitional role whilst he helped to set up and run a decommissioned Sporting Gun business, turning old English guns into artwork. George ran this for a few years before going back into auctions and eventually joining us here at C&T in 2018. His main Specialities are Coins and Silver.
